Speed, also known as Spit or Slam, is a fast-paced multiplayer card game that offers an exhilarating experience. Worried about damaging your actual playing cards? No problem! Play it on your phone and keep your physical cards safe.
Speed belongs to the shedding family of card games and is typically played by two players. The objective of the game is to be the first player to get rid of all their cards. It is closely associated with the game Nertz.
Don't expect a leisurely game of Solitaire like your grandma used to play. Speed brings a whole new level of excitement.
Enjoy the game either by playing online multiplayer live with other players or play offline against the computer.
Objective: Be the first player to play all your cards.
How to Play:
- Each player is dealt five face cards to form a hand. In addition, each player receives 15 cards face down to create a draw pile. If playing with jokers, they can be used as wild cards, with each draw pile consisting of 16 cards. A stack of five cards is placed face down on each side between the players, serving as a replacement pile. Lastly, two cards are placed face down in the center between the replacement piles.
- You can play a card from your hand by discarding it in the "Play Pile" if it is one number/value higher or lower than the topmost card in the pile. For example, you can play a 5 on a 6 or 4, or a Queen on a King or Jack.
- A 2 can be played on an Ace, and an Ace can be played on a 2.
- You can hold up to five cards in your hand at a time. When you have fewer than five cards, you can draw from your "Draw Pile".
- The first player to play all their cards wins!
Multiplayer mode in Speed utilizes the ELO ranking system, which calculates the relative skill levels of players in competitive games, such as chess.
